BasicAI

Data labeling software platform
Status:

Project Brief:

How do you relaunch a successful software and service from one country to another? This was the challenging facing BasicAI, a data labeling software platform from China re-branding and launching internationally.

Known as BasicFinder in China, BasicAI's platform was designed by engineers and presented an overwhelming and unclear interface. Working with a UX Designer, our role was to understand the problems of the users and services, then did several design cycles to solve a series of user pain points.

As a bi-lingual product manager, I served in multiple capacities. First, I helped finalize a major UX redesign by translating this working into a product road map for Chinese developers. I provided a comprehensive product review, including usability and service assessments as well as security check's. I then setup and put in place a bilingual issue and product management system.

Second, I did follow-up research and testing to then develop our feature prioritization and then translate this to key stakeholders.

Third, I helped with technical sales and integration for new clients. This included documenting and providing working scripts for the API targeting agricultural data labeling and AI models.

Some of the deliverables included:

  • User Tests: Test 5 users on current platform to understand pain points.
  • Service Blueprint
  • Stakeholder Visioning and Ideation Workshops
  • Prototypes, built in Adobe XD
  • Feature Prioritization and Product Roadmap
