About Mark Koester, Founder and Lead UX Designer and Developer
Hi, I am Mark Koester, and I have over a decade of hands-on experience taking digital products from ideas into production as a UX Designer (3+ years), Product Manager (5+ years) and Developer (8+ years).
I am an active open source developer and a serial tech entrepreneur having funded and launched multiple products in the e-learning, events, health and data science industries. I have helped hundreds of companies as a mentor and advisor, having served previously as regional director at Techstars in China. I am currently the co-director of Startup Boost Los Angeles, a pre-accelerator helping startups get their first check.
I have been involved in numerous innovative product cycles for a range enterprise clients and tech startups. Leveraging the disciplines of UX Research, UX Design and Product Management, I've lead teams through in-depth interviews and research in order to design, test and launch user-centric products. I do this through team ideations, user research, and UX design (wireframes, prototypes, and user testing).
While I first kicked off my career as a technical developer and software engineering, I have come to see the importance of UX, product management, and iternative processes, like Customer Discovery, Design Thinking, Lean Startup, User Testing, and Agile.
I can not only help you build the product but also help you do the customer and market research, UX prototypes, user interviews, discovery and market validation MVPs (minimum viable products) so we are building the right product for our customers.
